Fall Series: Village People
Don’t do life alone! There’s a reason that solitary confinement is used for punishment and not for reward – we function best in community. And yet, so many of us try to live lives in complete isolation. What if we’re missing out on one of the greatest blessings in life? What if God never intended relationships to be another ball to juggle or plate to spin, but instead gave us a village to love and be loved, to serve and be served, to know and be known?
In this 7-week series beginning September 12, Pastor David will explore what it looks like to be a part of a Gospel Community of believers who seek to apply God’s Word to their lives and their neighborhoods.
And it would be counter-intuitive to try to apply and understand these truths on your own, so be sure to jump into a Crossroads Community Group to get the most out of this life that you can.

Believers have the wonderful opportunity to show the world the mark that Christ has made on their lives. When we get passionate about experiencing Christ and helping others experience him as well, the way we handle our possessions and wealth completely changes. When we’re marked by the love of God, we can’t help but be generous to the furthering of his Kingdom.

Nobody gets a “secret” tattoo. Anyone who gets a tattoo is planning on showing it to someone. It’s something that marks us and we’re (usually) eager to share it with others. Seriously, count how many tattooed guys you catch wearing sleeveless shirts!
But the reality for many Christians is that we tend to live lives in hiding. We wear our long sleeves and collared shirts hiding the mark that has been made on our lives. And I believe that most believers really want to live a life that pleases God. We want to live in response to the great love that has been given to us. We want to respond to grace and truth with appreciation. But, it’s so stinking hard! Following Jesus’ words means that we live differently. It means that the old way of doing things won’t work any longer.
This August, Crossroads Friends Church will be exploring what it means to live a life of worship. How does that affect our priorities? our passions? our possessions? our practices? Get ready for everything to change.
