The theme at Crossroads in May 2012 is “Inclusive Community: The Way of Jesus”. We spent our three Sundays together looking at the example of Jesus interacting with people like Zacchaeus, in Luke 19:5-7. As we learn to balance Gospel, Community and Mission in our lives, our focus this month was on perhaps the one we need to work on the most…inclusive community.

Abby Hutson preached for the first time ever at Crossroads on Sunday May 13. With a message focused on Sabbath and rest, Abby encourages the church to find a rhythm balanced with rest in Christ.

As we learn to balance Gospel, Community and Mission in our lives, our focus this month was on perhaps the one we need to work on the most…inclusive community.

This Sunday, May 6th, Adam challenges Crossroads to find their Zacchaeus, the person they will “call by name” and begin a redemptive, kingdom friendship with.

Beautiful Feet – Week 4 April 29, 2012

The theme at Crossroads in April was “Beautiful Feet”. Romans 10:15 says, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!” This series commisioned Crossroads to be sent with beautiful feet across the street, around Wichita, to Bangladesh and to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8). This was be a very special month as Crossroads is turning the corner to focusing our energies even more on people who won’t come to church, whom Christ died for.

Jeff Mullen concludes “Beautiful Feet” month at Crossroads calling the church to first find themselves in Jesus and remain in him in order to make the Gospel known to the world. Jeff shared from John 15 and highlighted v. 4 which says “Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.”

Beautiful Feet – Week 2 April 8, 2012 (Easter)

On Sunday, April 8, which was Easter Sunday, Adam Monaghan shared part 2 of “Beautiful Feet” focusing on the commission to take the Gospel to the city of Wichita.

Greater Things – Week 1 March 4, 2012

The theme at Crossroads in March 2012 was “Greater Things Have Yet To Come”. In John 14:12, Jesus says “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works…” We spent our three Sundays in March looking at this promise, believing that God has greater things ahead for our lives and for our church as we continue to be sent out on mission.

Sunday, March 4, Adam Monaghan, focused on the John 14:12 passage and challenged Crossroads to believe the promise of Jesus for “even greater things…” as we are faithful to live out the mission of Christ.

Crossroads celebrated Missions Month in October/November 2011. We focused on how we are sent to in missions to Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8). Our theme was “Holding Up Their Arms”, focusing on how we can ‘hold up the arms’ (like Moses in Exodus 17), in support of our missionaries throughout all the places that God calls us to be his witnesses according to Acts 1:8.

Jeff talks about Judea and our missions being centered in the glory of God.

Crossroads celebrated Missions Month in October/November 2011. We focused on how we are sent on missions to Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8). This Sunday our focus was on all the Samaria ministries that Crossroads people are engaged in; ministry to people right here in Wichita from different ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.

DisciplesX

The theme at Crossroads in June is “DisciplesX”. We will spend our three Sundays together in June looking at how we as a church can be intentional to fulfill Jesus’ great commission mandate to make disciples. We desire to not just gain “converts” but to intentionally make new disciples (from those who aren’t disciples) who follow and obey Christ on mission…disciples that make disciples. We will learn of the exponential potential of even just one life lived sold out to Christ’s mission. Join us at 10:30 am on Sunday morning2 at 2901 W. Taft.

Sunday, June 3rd, will be Part 1 of “DisciplesX” as Adam Monaghan shares the message. No Crossroads Kids on this Sunday.
Sunday, June 10th, Jeff Mullen will share the message.
Sunday, June 17th, Special Guest Speaker Randy Littlefield will share the message.
Sunday, June 24th, Community Group Sunday for the month of May.
