Set-Up/Tear-Down Team

Crossroads Set-Up/Tear-Down Team begins the process of setting up all the church equipment at 8:00 am on Sunday mornings. If you are interested in serving on this team please contact Team Leader Chris Hutson (519-4691) or Cal Leslie (312-6550). This Team is currently forming two separate set-up crews to lighten the load on Sunday mornings.  Their goal is to have four crews.  Chris will provide a brief and simple training for anyone interested in serving on this team.

The Team Leaders request that only folks who have had this simple training help with actual equipment tear-down and set-up to avoid damage to any equipment.  They also ask that no tear-down or load-up begin until at least 15 minutes after the worship service ends so that everyone can interact with visitors and others in the foyer after the service - building community is essential for success in Crossroad's vision!  If you intend to help, please contact Chris or Cal so they can arrange a brief training for you.

Lord's Diner

Crossroads is serving at the Lord's Diner on the 3rd Friday evening of every month. The Lord's Diner is a not-for-profit soup kitchen serving hot evening meals 365 days a year to anyone in need, an average of 375 people present everyday. Crossroads needs a minimum of 20 volunteers each 3rd Friday. This is a wonderful opportunity to serve our community! Volunteers should arrive at the Diner (NE corner of Broadway & Central) at 5:00pm to get signed in before 5:15pm prayer and a 5:30pm sharp start on serving supper.  Our work is usually done at around 7:30pm - 7:45pm at the latest.  Please contact Lisa Leslie (409-0834) if you are interested in volunteering to help at the Lord's Diner. Note that it is required that volunteers have a food handler's license from the Health Department before serving.

If you would like to acquire your food handler's license to be able to serve at the Lord's Diner, the classes are offered on the first and third Saturdays of each month at 8:30 am and 12:30 pm and also on the first and third Mondays of each month at 8:30 am and 2:00 pm. The classes are only two hours in length. There is no pre-registration necessary and there is no fee for the class. Classes are held in the auditorium at the City of Wichita Department of Environmental Services, 1900 E. 9th St. N. If you have questions, call 268-8351.
